10 IDEAS

It is week 6 and the task is to generate 10 problematice ideas and to create a solution to these ideas. The ideas that I came up with are:

10 ideas to generate

  1. A Tourism app that helps tourists to plan their journey and their day. The app would include 50 languages, it would be easily accessible with a built-in translator. The app would also allow an individual to plan their journey which would then be accessible at any time with no internet needed.
  1. An app that allows students to get their shopping cheaper. Something like a Tesco Clubcard, students would be able to collect points, have items discounted and would be able to spend their points in any supermarket they like.
  1. A device that would allow anyone wearing makeup to remove it in an effortless way. This device would look like a face mask and once you put it on your face after a few minutes the makeup would be soaked in and gone, then the face mask is removed and the makeup is gone.
  1. Make a footpath for both fast phased and slow phased walkers. The pedestrian footpath would have two lanes and signs to indicate which side slow and fast phased walkers should use.
  1. Use less plastic packaging. Instead of supermarkets packaging their products from fruits and vegetables to any household items and other things. All the items could be presented in big creates in bulks which would then use less packaging.
  1. Recycling makeup products and their packaging. By buying sustainable packaging products like foundation that is made of glass tube, this then could be brough back to the shop and be refilled. Not only could a customer get a discount on the product, but they would be reusing the packaging.
  1. Heated up benches for winter. Not only would it make people go outside but also for the homeless to be warm in the cold.
  1. A machine that collect empty plastic bottles or glass bottle and gives money back in retuern.
  1. A basket in the middle of the shop or near the checkout station with a sign indicating leaving unwanted items. This could save the product from being wasted if it is from the fridge and it will save time for the employees going around the shop and finding random items on the shelves.
  1. An app that lets you take care of someone’s animals when they go out on holiday or for a few hours.

From the ten ideas that I have generated I have decided to go with the footpath for faster walking pedestrians. When living in London I have come across a lot of tourists, I understand that they want to explore little streets and shops and sometimes they gather around in a group in the middle of the footpath or walk slowly chatting about anything. Anyone that is in a hurry finds themselves struggling pass through.

I have drawn a sketch of a prototype of what footpath should look like for faster walking pedestrians. Just like on the road, there is a lane for buses and cyclists. I took the same concept, and I added my spin to it. On one side there is a stick man walking and that indicates normal phased pedestrians. The other side has a different colour and this time the stick man looks like he is running and that indicates someone who walks faster.
