It is a week two. I am looking at a problem that exists now within our world or creating one and then approaching it with a solution. Before I could think of a problem I have done some research of companies that have solutions to some of the problem that we are facing now.
The research:
COMUZI
COMUZI is a design and technology studio based in London. One of the ideas they have explored was facial recognition. They have opened a project to prevent technical devices from recognizing your face. It was a basketball cap with an array of tiny infrared LEDs wired to the inside of a basketball cap to project dots of light onto the wearer’s face. The idea is to confuse the computer and make the face impossible to recognize. As an increased number of devices now require face recognizing to access your phone or at least make it easier to access some of the sites it can be harmful to users too. This development in technology can lead to fraud and hacking.
BrightSign
BrightSign is a website that allows anyone to purchase a sign language glove. This invention provides users to translate their signs in 30 languages in both speech and text output. The glove also has the ability translate languages that have different alphabets such as Arabic and Mandarin. The idea behind this project is fascinating because it allows individuals to be understood and to be comfortable when talking. It also opens a world to vulnerable people and breaks the boundaries of communication.
Feminist Data Set
Feminist Data Set is a multiyear project that questions everything on the internet. They use algorithms and collect data to give the right understanding to anyone who seeks knowledge, it is a form a protest. In one of their projects, they talked about the wage gap. They have launched a website available to anyone to use if they want to calculate the difference within the pay. One of their other projects was presented in Tate modern and there they went in depth in AI shaping the modern world, website tracking, face recognition and harmful content. The other project was to explore the solution to online harassment. It is a computer that allows an individual to share their experience and it is there to give the support that is needed.
Safecity
Safecity is an app that allows anyone anonymously to report a sexual crime, it will then be recorded on the map. This project allows individuals to create safe space if they find themselves in an area they do not fully know. Not only it helps to see the vulnerable areas it is also there for the police to understand the frequent crime rates in that area so that further crime could be prevented.crime but it is there for police to be aware of the crime that is happening in that area.
The problem and the solution
I came up with an idea that would transfer energy from one device to another. It is a one-meter-long wire that has a switch that indicates the energy to flow from one source to another. The product itself is compatible with opposite brands such as Motorola and Apple. It is light and has a little pouch to put everything inside. As we all are different individuals and have different brand phones. It would be nice to have something that works for all devices.
There are so many varied reasons why your phone or any device could run low on battery. It could be that you forgot to charge it overnight, or you were using it all day long and realizing that you need to charge it but there are no charging pints available. What if you love traveling and find yourself in a country you do not really know and because u cannot speak the language it would be hard to find a spot where to charge your phone. Even if you finally find the place where to charge it you would still need to have the correct wire that is suitable for use. No one really wants to carry millions of wires that take up a bunch of space.

Feedback- When talking about my work this week I have identified some of the problems that might occur using this product. The main problem would include asking stagers if they could share their battery. One of the other things I would have to consider is having a look at the target audience for this product, such as someone who travels.
