It is week 3. The task is to disturb the binary system and this could be a glitch in the system or any invention.
I find the topic of global warming quite interesting and I think it is still not being seen as serious as it should be. I have done some research regarding this topic:
Global warming is a long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. While the world we are living in now thrives to its best capabilities, we are building cities and expanding human population, global warming is getting worse. Now more than ever people are trying to bring awareness to the climate change with protests. Because of the greenhouse increase and ice melting in rapid rate. There is an act of law that establishes is legally binding target for the UK to bring all greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050.
My work:
I made a short video using TIK TOK platform to bring awareness to global warming. I decided to go with a melting the ice cube where it glitches randomly and appears again and again, it then starts melting again and appears again. It made me think what if there was glitch I the colder parts of the world such as Antarctica or Greeland where ice is melting in unexpected rate. Just imagine the glitch would make the ice appear again in the areas where it has melted. Not only would it prevent global warming, but it would also prevent animals from losing their habitat.
Feedback- When using social platform such as Tik Tok it is important to understand that whom ever is watching it , they might not take it too serious. One of the reasons might be is that the video itself has not been edited in the formal manner only because it includes the platforms logo in the corner. If this work is presented in the gallery, it could not be taken as serious again because it includes a logo and other editing programs should be considered instead. From the other side, because Tok Tok is so popular it might reach a lot of people. If I was not to explain my video before hand, the work could be interpreted in many different ways and I like that because it can connect with a lot of people.
